Talk before you touch.

At every men's massage workshop I lead—whether it’s a sports massage session, an eros weekend, or a trade night—the first thing we focus on is clear, conscious communication. At INTOUCHMEN, our motto is simple: if you see something you want to touch, always ask first.

Massage and bodywork are all about creating balance and trust between giver and receiver, and that starts with honest communication. Checking in doesn’t just give you permission to explore your partner’s body—it also gives the receiver a chance to share what they want or need. Maybe there’s a spot that needs special attention, or an area that’s off-limits. Maybe you want to feel more connected to your partner during the session. Now is the time to speak up and ask.

Things can get tricky in the gray areas. If everyone isn’t on the same page, boundaries can easily be crossed, and the energy can shift in uncomfortable ways. I remember a workshop where clear boundaries weren’t respected, and it changed the entire experience for everyone involved. That’s why I stress conscious communication—so everyone feels safe, heard, and respected.

Intention matters too. What you’re thinking and feeling while you’re giving a massage comes through in your touch. If your mind is wandering or your energy is out of sync, your partner will feel it. Massage is not just about hands—it’s about presence, awareness, and intention.

There’s a playful side to this, too. I love to approach a man’s calves as if I’m taking them out on a date—warming up the muscles and building anticipation before diving in. Muscles, like people, respond best when treated with care, attention, and a sense of fun.

Entering into men’s massage and bodywork is an invitation to connect more deeply with yourself and others. When communication flows and intentions are clear, the experience can be both grounding and uplifting.
