I received some feedback on my last post about coming across as creepy, so I wanted to clarify why I wrote it.

I believe all kinds of consensual touch between men are valuable and positive. As many of you know from group sessions or one-on-one massage sessions, there are so many styles of touch and bodywork to explore. My goal with the post about not being creepy was to encourage us all to communicate openly before any kind of man-to-man bodywork.

Communication is the key first step.

That post described a specific session that really challenged me to think about these issues—not a general statement about all of my bodywork experiences. I wanted to highlight two key things I believe are important for men in any situation that combines the physical and the sensual, as massage naturally does.

  1. Talk openly with each other and respect each other’s perspectives. If there’s something you want to try, just say so.

  2. When you refer someone to the group or to me, just tell them it’s a great experience—everyone’s session or visit is unique and personal to them.

  3. If fantastical ideas of sensual adventures are part of the bodywork you enjoy, I love and support that. Simply let the people you are touching know that, so the ideas you are aligned on can come true for both of you.
